I managed to tick off quite a few boxes last night... but swapped the A1 taping together for finishing burning my DVD's...I managed one (after one taking an hour I was not in the mood for anymore heehee... so shall have to space them out for my own sanity!!), anyway today I had an early start in the Mac Suite (8.15am ...thats a new record for me!!) printing out some more photographs to finish off my plane photo shoot little collection, then I had a tutorial at 10 to discuss what exhibition spaces would be best for different people, it was really good to bounce ideas off each other and we have a great space to play with (it all seems a bit more real now and suddenly we only have just over a week left aarrgh!!). I also got my portfolio looked over and have a good idea of what I need to add and take away to make it more effective. I now have my journal pretty much finished except for the weeks that are left so have bound the first 2 sections and have the next two ready punched so I can just top them up with new weeks and work. After the tutorials I now have a clearer idea of how I want my exhibition space to look and hopefully I can pull it off!! Tomorrow we have a fundraiser bake sale in the union so tonight I'm going to squeeze a bit of baking into my busy work schedule!! I found a great series of photos featuring an Sarah Anderson an eco-designer using non-violent silk and baby alpaca I love the movement in the photographs...

ABOUT ME

Zoe Grace Fletcher Currently undertaking a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University within the MIRIAD post-graduate department, I am beginning a practice based academic journey into British wool fibres and new technologies within knitwear design. Graduating with Distinction from a Masters in Fashion and the Environment at London College of Fashion, specialising in hand-knitting and the British Wool Industry, I have worked on a number of knitwear collections (personal and external companies), whilst freelancing and researching for a number of exciting projects. My work revolves around the idea of sustainable fashion from a knitted perspective and the different ways to achieve this incorporating the ideas of slow fashion into mainstream society. I love knitting. And wool. And double sided sticky tape.
