On Sunday we (as an MA collective) ran a cutomising/knitting/crocheting/fashion show series of workshops at Camden Green Fair - our tent was beautifully decorated with hand made bunting and had lots of comfy couches around to relax and learn a new skill on!
Saida was an amazing organiser and the Fashion show in the evening went without a hitch and lots of beautiful outfits strutted down the catwalk on equally beautiful models!
I ran the knitting/pom pom making area and it was great fun teaching the children and a few adults!!) how to make fluffy pom poms - I think I shall be hanging up my pom pom making hat for a while to recuperate! It was an amazing day and the fair held in Regent's Park attracted thousands of visitors!
Currently undertaking a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University within the MIRIAD post-graduate department, I am beginning a practice based academic journey into British wool fibres and new technologies within knitwear design.
Graduating with Distinction from a Masters in Fashion and the Environment at London College of Fashion, specialising in hand-knitting and the British Wool Industry,
I have worked on a number of knitwear collections (personal and external companies), whilst freelancing and researching for a number of exciting projects.
My work revolves around the idea of sustainable fashion from a knitted perspective and the different ways to achieve this incorporating the ideas of slow fashion into mainstream society.
I love knitting.
And wool.
And double sided sticky tape.
