Hot Hot Hot...

May 31, 2009
The weather is so nice!!!! Its not fair...I have to keep pretending its raining outside and close my blinds to keep myself a little bit focussed on work... although I did find an excuse to go to the park... well everyone has to have lunch... and I did fold some of my business cards whilst sitting in the sun!! Only 5 days till deadline day.... and much work needs to be completed before then!! i've got lots of to do lists now for each aspect of my project which are being ticked off slowly but surely!! I have completed the Ration Fashion books and have put them in the kits, which are also nearly complete minus a few fastenings etc!! I have sorted out my mirror for the exhibition and hopefully the brackets so hopefully by Tuesday I will have a better idea of what space I have to fit my knitting in!! Lots more printing needs to be done tomorrow to complete the last couple of books (MDRDM kit books and my pattern sheet books!!) But I have completed 99% of my journal which is a big plus, along with a few new sheets for my Portfolio. Heres a couple of pictures from my park "work"!!...

The to do list has reached a new scale...

May 29, 2009
The to do list has now reached epic proportions... it has now had to be transfered to an A3 piece of paper heehee!! Well today has been finishing bits of work off that I want to try out in my exhibition space on Monday or Tuesday... and finishing off all the MDRDM kits... they're taking much longer than I thought they would and are constantly being added to as I remember lots of things that would be useful to have in them!! I have also been focussing on Labelling my exhibition pieces and making sure they all have the same branding on to give them a unified look. Tonight's task is to update the last bits of my journal as to ease the pressure for next week so I can bind the final bits and get it out the way!! Hopefully a few more bullet points will also be crossed off tonight but i think i'll still be in for a long night!! here are a couple of photographs of my branding on the knitted pieces and also a couple of photos of my giant chooser that is going to hold my business cards...

Busy Busy Busy...

May 28, 2009
Yesterday was really hectic... we held the TD4F bake sale to raise money for our exhibition catalogue in the students union and had so many cakes it was untrue, they wouldn't all fit on the table we were given, we also had a kind of jumble sale with loads of fabric remnants and old clothes which seemed really popular!!... we managed to sell all of the cakes and raised about £150 which is amazing!! I then headed back to Bolton and picked up two 32" tv's ready for my exhibition (who says working for an electrical company doesn't have its perks heehee!!), wall mounts and managed to steal my sisters small tv that will hopefully fit in well for the 'head' part of my exhibition!! I also stocked up on DVD's to burn my films onto, scart leads and 2 dvd players swiftly removed from my grandparents and parents houses before much noise was made!! So hopefully I can begin putting up my exhibition on Monday and see what space I have left to put my knitting and suchlike in!! So much more to do still!! Heres a couple of pictures from the cake stall!!...

Another day another list...

May 26, 2009
I managed to tick off quite a few boxes last night... but swapped the A1 taping together for finishing burning my DVD's...I managed one (after one taking an hour I was not in the mood for anymore heehee... so shall have to space them out for my own sanity!!), anyway today I had an early start in the Mac Suite (8.15am ...thats a new record for me!!) printing out some more photographs to finish off my plane photo shoot little collection, then I had a tutorial at 10 to discuss what exhibition spaces would be best for different people, it was really good to bounce ideas off each other and we have a great space to play with (it all seems a bit more real now and suddenly we only have just over a week left aarrgh!!). I also got my portfolio looked over and have a good idea of what I need to add and take away to make it more effective. I now have my journal pretty much finished except for the weeks that are left so have bound the first 2 sections and have the next two ready punched so I can just top them up with new weeks and work. After the tutorials I now have a clearer idea of how I want my exhibition space to look and hopefully I can pull it off!! Tomorrow we have a fundraiser bake sale in the union so tonight I'm going to squeeze a bit of baking into my busy work schedule!! I found a great series of photos featuring an Sarah Anderson an eco-designer using non-violent silk and baby alpaca I love the movement in the photographs...

To Do To Do To Do Lists...

May 24, 2009
Another day of working down my lists...I have been concentrating on trying to finish my Make Do ReDo Mend kits, and have just finished the postcard sized pattern sheets that are included in them. They are quite simple yet effective with all the information needed to create your very own knitted pieces. I have also had a huuuuge tidying session of my room and found more stuff that was supposed to be in my journal, but was in a mysterious pile in the corner of my bedroom - so that has all gone in today!! Tonight's tasks include completing my book of calculations (i'll post a picture up when its done to explain more!!) and actually getting some sleep!! ...

Journal, Journal and more Journal...

May 22, 2009
Well todays to do list has been getting longer and longer, with things taking much longer than I had intended. My Journal has overtaken other tasks today, with little bits taking more time than I initially thought, I think it's going to be a long night tonight!! Anyway I better be getting back to it so heres a few pictures of the front covers and how it will look eventually!!...

Talking of folding...

May 22, 2009
A lot more folding of business cards for me on my breaks today I think!! I have also made an even bigger chooser to display my business cards in...its huuuuge and i'm quite happy in the way it has turned out...even after major problems figuring out where to stick the joins etc heehee!! It's still only just sinking in that times nearly up and have a really long to do list that keeps expanding not decreasing which is worrying heehee so i'm going to crack on with ticking off some boxes today!! On the subject of folding I was looking on the internet and found these lovely pictures of Hussein Chalayans 'airmail dress' I love the concept behind it and the ingenuity of creating a sendable piece of clothing that can go anywhere in the world by posting it in a small red letterbox!!...

Catch Up...

May 21, 2009
Ooops... I've been so busy running around to tutorials, printing rooms, Mac Suites, major scissor sessions, journal catch up...I could go on that i haven't had a chance to post for a day or two!! Anyway, my tutorial with Annie went well on Monday and it was great to get feedback off Alan and Alex on Tuesday, I have a lot of work still to do before my deadlines but I have a bit more confidence in myself (and am training myself for not much sleep... but it will be worth it if I can pull it off!!) I can't believe three whole years are nearly over!! Any way back to my work...I have bound my contact sheet books, and printed out 175 business cards (I have a lovely boyfriend that has helped cut them out!!) and am now on to the folding!! I have also been testing out different envelope styles for my Make Do ReDo Mend kits, I think I have found a style I like so there's a couple of pictures below including some book photographs!!...
